"Horses and You", "The Horseback Riding Guide", and the "Bales of Hay" program are developed and operated by Jim and Virginia Simonsen. The couple have lived in Florida for the past 25 years
Jim is a native of northwestern Pennsylvania, and is a former school teacher and restaurant owner. "Ginny" is from of Long Island, New York, wife and mother and has been in administration with a major defense contractor for many years.
Both are lifelong horse lovers. Circumstances and a youthful enthusiasm has afforded the opportunity to invest time and resources to make an effort to help wild and abused horses in a meaningful way.
The Mission is to assist Non-Profit Wild Horse Sanctuaries and Horse Rescue Farms to generate funding on an ongoing basis. The goal is to eliminate the "feast or famine" situation that these organizations face in attempting to feed and care for these wonderful American symbols of freedom and courage.
Lastly, the site calls attention to the disgraceful practices of the Bureau of Land Management in caring for these wonderful animals. The effect is truly "Wild Horse Genocide" in America. We encourage you to read the various articles on this site under the heading "Stop the Slaughter."
